The holidays are a time when we want to offer extra-special and stimulating activities for children in under resourced communities. It is also an opportunity to create a space to bring children from different backgrounds together and explore each others’ diversity.
We offer all kinds of activities, ranging from play, puzzles, art and craft, movement, storytelling, baking and group games. It is an open space where we want to encourage the kids to express their creativity, explore different techniques and mediums and get to know each other in a playful environment.
This October we had 2 different venues in Stanford – the community hall and Die Bron Primary School. We had around 50 children attending each day and our Creative Works facilitators did a brilliant job in looking after everything from arts and craft activities to baking and disco dancing. Thank you to everyone who helped and donated craft and food items. Thank you to ROTARY Stanford, Die Bron Primary School and a very special thank you goes to Rachel Adams our wonderful Teacher in Residence from England. The next holiday program is in December. Please contact us if you want to get involved.
