December Holiday Program

2020-01-02-holiday-1_580_326

In December this year, in Stanford, the creative works team facilitated workshops every day over the first three weeks in December; a total of 15 workshops and in Masakhane, 10 workshops were run every day over the first two weeks of December.

A total number of 544 children attended the workshops during these school holidays.  It was a wonderful time for the children and the facilitators alike, we were so grateful for the generous help we received so that we were able to provide healthy snacks to each child every day. Not only healthy snacks but some cake and sweets on the last days of the School Holiday Program.

One of the exciting activities for the School Holiday Program was a project given to Creative Works by the Cape Whale Coast Tourism body handouts by the Mayor of the Overstrand Region.

The children created beautiful labels for recycled tins into which they planted Spekboom. These were delivered to the Tourism offices ahead of the due date.

It was a fun and learning activity for the children who also created tins with planted Spekboom to take home with them.
